What we do…
Our approach to children’s theater is slightly different than others. Our director was inspired to build an educational theater program for kids after working in the NYC based company “Kidz Theater”. What we aim to do is not just put on another show, rather work with each student to teach them the inter workings of theater and acting. There is a throng focus on building character work for every show (one of the reasons we do more “obscure” shows. We also have them involved with know about the tech aspects and set. This not only teaches them what it is, but also helps them appreciate and respect the other people involved who are not actors.
Another thing we do different from other theater companies; we do not always use the same venues for performances. Instead, we try to have our students adapt to here they are performing. We use indoor and outdoor venues. Our students have performed in different weather. We’ve also performed in large auditoriums and community halls. Each space holds their own challenges for our students to adapt to.
